Community and Resource Development
The Walnut Avenue Women’s Center is a strength-based family resource center. Walnut Avenue Women’s Center provides a kaleidoscope of programs and services including: The Family Literacy Program, Early Childhood Education Centers, Domestic Violence Services, The Youth Department and the Community & Resource Development Department. The mission of the Community and Resource Development Department is to ensure that everyone who enters our doors feels welcomed, respected, and cared for regardless of the reason they are here. This department provides support to all other programs at Walnut Avenue Women’s Center by continuing to grow our resources and services to increase our ability to serve the Santa Cruz community.
The Community and Resource Development Department oversees the following;
- Daily operations (including the Front Office, Food Pantry and Basic Needs Support for WAWC Program Participants)
- Fundraising & Marketing
- Information systems
- Corporate & Community relations
- Volunteer recruitment & training
- Special Events
- Agave Agape, Tequila Tasting & Auction Fundraiser
- Human Race
- Strawberry Festival
- Hot Rods for Kids
- Back to School Drive
- Turkey Drive
- Adopt A Family
